Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –   sebanyak 100 orang calon pemain Futsal mengikuti seleksi Pra PON 2023. Seleksi ini diselenggarakan oleh pengurus Provinsi Asosiasi Provinsi Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (Asprov PSSI) Papua Tengah yang dimulai selama tiga hari.

Plt Ketua Asprov Papua Tengah, Otopianus Petrus Tebai mengatakan, seleksi dilaksanakan selama tiga hari, yakni sejak Senin sampai dengan Rabu (09-11 Oktober 2023, di lapangan futsal Wonorejo Nabire.  Dan jumlah tersebut (100) orang yang terdiri dari pemain putra dan putri.

“Mereka akan terseleksi hingga 15 orang putra dan 16 orang putri,” kata Tebai di Kantornya, Senin, (09/10/2023) kemarin.

Tebai menjelaskan, antusias peserta cukup tinggi, sebab sudah lebih 100 orang mendaftarkan diri. Dan untuk pendaftaran sudah diumumkan kepada publik sejak tanggal 01 – 08 Oktober kemarin lalu sudah ditutup dengan resmi.

“Persiapan seleksi sudah 100 persen untuk siap diseleksi dan  akan disaksikan oleh KONI dan PSSI Papua Tengah,” jelasnya.

Manajer tim Asprov PSSI Papua Tengah ini bilang, pihaknya diberikan ruang oleh PSSI pusat untuk melaksanakan seleksi pemain dan official, dalam bulan ini (Oktober) sebelum nantinya berlaga di Jakarta. Dan dalam  pelaksanaan seleksi, hanya satu kali bertanding dengan durasi waktu hanya 20 menit. Lalu akan saring sampai 16 orang pemain, baik putra maupun putri.

Kemudian untuk cabang olahraga sepak bola, lanjut anggota DPD RI ini, akan menyusul pasca seleksi tim futsal.

“Untuk sepak bola akan kami seleksi pada 10 Oktober (hari ini). Dan untuk sementara waktu kami pakai pelatih lokal yaitu Alfons Yogi sambil kami siapkan atau hubungi pelatih lisensi baik putra maupun putri,” ungkapnya.

Tebai optimis akan memperoleh satu slot khusus untuk tim futsal pada ajang PON XXI/2024 di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara.

“Kami harus dapatkan satu slot, dan itu hasil rapat kami dengan pihak Kemendagri dan PSSI pusat. Kami ini tim daerah otonom baru, maka harus tunjukan bahwa kami juga bisa,” pungkasnya.[*]
