‘Menaklukan Gelombang’. FKACP akan gelar lomba dayung Tradisional

Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Forum Kumunikasi Anak Cucu Perintis (FKACP) Kota Nabire, berencana akan menggelar lomba dayung tradisional. Lomba dayung ini diselenggarakan dalam rangka Papua Tengahmemperingati Hari Sumpah Pemuda, 28 Oktober 2028.

Dasar pemikiran FKACP untuk melaksanakan lomba dayung tradisional, kata Ketua Panitia Lomba Yohan Rumayomi, Nabire sebagai daerah di wilayah pesisir yang memiliki banyak potensi perikanan terhadap wilayah Papua Tengah. Termasuk kegiatan wirausaha, disamping sebagai salah satu cabang olahraga.

“Kami pilih lomba dayung tradisional dalam rangka peringatan HUT Sumpah Pemuda. Karena kelihatan lomba ini terlalu lama bahkan jarang dilaksanakan,” kata Rumayomi, didampingi sekretarisnya, Albert Sanjang (kiri) dalam keterangannya kepada bumiofinavandu, disalah satu hotel di Nabire, Senin (25/09/2023) kemarin.

Ia menjelaskan, masyarakat umum akan diberikan kesempatan menjadi peserta dalam lomba dayung tradisional tersebut. Artinya karena ada kata tradisional maka pesertanya diwajibkan harus orang Papua.

Tidak demikian. Namun maksud tradisional dalam hal ini adalah seluruh fasilitas yang digunakan dalam lomba bernuansa tradisional.

“Misalkan, perahu dan dayung yang akan digunakan. Dan perahu yang digunakan bukan punya seman, tapi perahu kole-kole namanya (bebas semakin),” jelas Rumayomi.

Lomba dayung tradisional tersebut   “Menaklukan Gelombang”. Artinya menurut Rumayomi, bahwa Nabire adalah daerah bergelombang. Selain itu sebagai bentuk semangat pantang mundur generasi muda Nabire, lebih khusus ACPN dalam membangun wilayah ini (Nabire).

“Ini lebih pada motto semangat kepada peserta sehingga tidak melihat ombak sebagai suatu tantangan dalam menaklukkan lawannya,” tuturnya.

Ada dua kategori dalam dalam lomba tersebut, yakni perorangan (single) dan ganda (dua orang). pendaftaran dimulai sejak 01 –14 oktober mendatang, karena saat ini publikasi kegiatan sedang dilakukan panitia. Tempat pelaksanaan adalah Pantai Nabire dengan jarak lomba 100 meter untuk babak pengisian (sekali jalan), untuk finalnya 200 meter.

“Tempat pendaftaran di Jalan Kupang atau Hotel Getz, tapi sudah ada peserta yang mendaftar. Lalu pelaksanaannya 27 – 28 Oktober,” ujarnya.

Lanjutnya, hadiah utama dalam lomba ini berupa motor ketinting dan uang pembinaan berupa tabungan. Semantara penonton akan dihibur dengan artis lokan dan doorprize satu buah motor revo dan hadiah lainnya.

Ia berharap, masyarakat dapat merespon dan mendaftarkan diri sebagai peserta. Mengingat dayung bukan hanya sekedar olahraga, namun lebih kepada budaya orang Papua, khususnya masyarakat pesisir atau yang tinggal di daerah laut dan danau.

“Kami juga berharap agar output dari kegiatan ini bisa melahirkan atlet yang berbakat untuk bisa tampil di event di luar Nabire,” harapnya.[*]
