Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Ketua Kelompok Khusus (Poksus) DPR Papua, John NR Gobai mengatakan, pelabuhan Kapal Ferry di Kampung Air Mandidi, Distrik Teluk Kimi, Nabire-Papua Tengah harus diaktifkan kembali. Pelabuhan tersebut dahulu dibangun pada Pemerintahan Bupati Nabire Drs AP You.

Dari pengamatan menurutnya, terlihat sudah tidak terawat lagi, karena belum atau sudah tidak dipakai akibat pendangkalan pasir. Akibatnya, kapal-kapal seperti KMP Masirei dan kapal lainnya sulit untuk berlabuh dan bongkar muatan di pelabuhan itu.

“Jadi ini harus dicari solusi agar diaktifkan kembali,” tutur Gobai ketika meninjau pelabuhan tersebut pada Senin (01/05/2023) pagi.

Sebelumnya lanjut dia, pelabuhan tersebut sangat memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat sekitar pelabuhan karena masyarakat dapat berjualan untuk mendapatkan pendapatan keluarga, termasuk membantu orang bepergian.

Pelabuhan ini dibangun menggunakan dana rakyat melalui APBN dan APBD, tentunya harus mendapatkan perhatian untuk dapat direvitalisasi kembali agar dapat digunakan.

“Ya, sebagai pelabuhan untuk kapal perintis untuk membantu masyarakat kami yang ada di kampung-kampung dan Distrik yang jauh untuk berdatangan ke kota Nabire,” pungkasnya.[*]
