Nabire, Bumiofinavandu – Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS (KPA) Nabire – Papua Tengah, berencana untuk menggelar menyalahkan seribu lilin pada puncak peringatan hari HIV/AIDS sedunia yang jatuh pada 01 Desember 2023.
Ketua KPA Nabire, Paula S . Pakage menyebut, kegiatan tersebut akan melibatkan berbagai komunitas anak muda di Nabire. Seperti Komena, komunitas motor dan lainnya.
“Kita akan nyalakan seribu lilin. Rencananya di taman gizi kelurahan Oyehe. Tujuannya untuk menyadarkan kita semua untuk menekan angka penyebaran HIV/AIDS di Nabire,” sebut Pakage melalui panggilan selulernya, (29/11/2023) malam.
Menurutnya, selain komunitas anak muda, kebanyakan akan diundang para petinggi dari Pemprov Papua Tengah serta Pemkab Nabire dan para tokoh agama. Selain itu, Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA), terutama mereka yang sudah siap untuk membuka diri.
Sehingga seribu lilin yang dinyalakan ini dimaknai sebagai suatu harapan dan dan semantabaru bagi ODHA, untuk berjuang agar hidup lebih lama lagi.
“Jadi mereka ini (ODHA) harus diberi semangat, bahwa harapan hidup itu ada dan harus berjuang,” tuturnya.
Kemudian lanjut Pakage, kehadiran muda mudi dari komunitas adalah untuk terlibat dan mengatakan siap perang melawan HIV/AIDS dan menyatakan Nabire bebas HIV pada 2030 mendatang.
“Jadi mari kita berupaya keras dalam upaya “STOP SEBAR HIV/AIDS” melalui jada diri dan keluarga. Sebab perkembangan kasus ini di Nabire cukup signifikan,” pungkasnya.[*]
