Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Komisi Penanggulangan AIDS Kabupaten Nabire, Papua tengah, menyatakan siap berperang melawan fenomena gunung es yang sedang menghantui wilayah ini. Fenomena itu adalah meningkatnya temuan kasus penularan HIV/AIDS yang mencapai 9.550 kasus per triwulan 3 Tahun 2023.

Ketua KPA Nabire, Papua S. Pakage mengatakan, guna berperang melawan penyakit mematikan itu, pihaknya kini sedang gencar melakukan beberapa langkah. Yakni mulai dari sosialisasi kepada anak-anak muda di Nabire, hingga merekrut relawan yang siap bekerja membantu KPA dalam sosialisasi hingga bentuk dukungan lainnya.

“Program awal kami adalah menjaring lebih banyak relawan terutama di tingkat Kelurahan dan Kampung. Dengan demikian maka kami akan mengetahui sebenarnya apa yang terjadi,” kata Pakage usai bertemu puluhan relawan di Kantornya, Jumat (22/09/2023) petang.

Tujuan perekrutan relawan adalah guna membantu KPA terutama di Kelurahan dan Kampung. Sehingga menurut Pakage, kehadiran relawan adalah sebagai perpanjangan dari KPA yang siap memberikan pemahaman, sosialisasi dan lainnya di lingkungan akar rumpung. Yang memang benar-benar tidak mengerti dan menyadari tentang bahaya HIV/AIDS.

“Jadi sifatnya berbagi informasi, misalkan KPA tidak turun ke masyarakat maka relakanlah yang akan meneruskan kepada mereka (Masyarakat),” tutur Pakage.

Dijelaskan, relawan yang direkrut berasal dari berbagai Kampung atau Kelurahan di Distrik Nabire. Nantinya, mereka (relawan) di Kampung atau wilayah tempat tinggalnya akan lebih mengamati dan mensosialisasikan serta mengedukasi warga di sana (kelurahannya).

Sehingga nantinya setelah perekrutan, akan dilanjutkan dengan pembekalan dan pelantikan relawan dan berikan tugas tersebut. Walaupun belum ditunjang dengan anggaran yang memadai.

“Kami belum memang belum memiliki anggaran yang cukup, tapi kami tidak ingin terlambat. Artinya bahwa ada orang yang mau menolong, tapi karena tunggu anggaran, padahal bulan depan orang yang mau ditolong sudah tidak ada. Jadi kita harus lebih awal lakukan ini,” jelasnya.

Lanjutnya, relawan yang hadir dalam pertemuan hari ini (22/09) baru sebagian. Misalkan dari Kelurahan Siriwini, Kampung Sanoba, Kelurahan Karang Tumaritis dan lainnya. Sementara secara keseluruhan belum.

Maka piaknya akan merekrut relawan hingga seluruh Kampung yang tersebar di 15 Distrik di Kabupaten Nabire.

“Selanjutnya, akan diberikan penguatan dan pemahaman, kemudian dilantik dan siap untuk melaksanakan tugas,” ungkap Paula Pakage.

Paula menghimbau kepada masyarakat di Nabire, untuk secara bersama-sama dengan penuh tanggung jawab agar berperan sesuai kapasitasnya dan menyatakan perang melawan HIV/AIDS guna menekan lajunya penyebaran penyakit mematikan ini.

“Jangan tunggu pemerintah atau KPA, tapi kita semua harus peduli. Mulai dari pemerhati, pemerintah, tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat dan sebagainya. Mari, kita sama-sama bergandengan tangan perang lawan bahanya ini,” harapnya.

Natan Tebai, salah seorang pemerhati semua pihak, yakni pemerintah, tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat, pemuda, untuk bergandengan tangan mendukung gerakan yang dilakukan oleh KPA.

Sehingga saat ini yang dibutuhkan adalah satu gerakan nyata, tidak perlu hanya diskusi-diskusi, menyatakan prihatin lalu berkoar-koar di media sosial. Tapi mari, bagaimana caranya untuk berperan langsung. Dari situlah kita sama-sama akan koreksi, apa sebenarnya yang terjadi.

“Karena di tengah meningkatnya kasus HIV, ada juga berbagai penyakit lain seperti ginjal, TBC dan sebagainya. Anehnya, hal itu dibarengi dengan tenaga kesehatan yang tidak memadai, obat-obatan yang sulit diperoleh (kebanyakan di apotik) saat pasien di rawat di RSUD. Jadi jangan hanya berkoar di medsos, tapi mari lakukan sesuatu,” pungkasnya.[*]
