Pemprov PT gelar pertemuan dengan Masyarakat Mimika Timur dan Lepemawil di Timika

Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah atau Pemprov PT, melalui Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi  Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral, Dinas Kehutanan, Lingkungan Hidup dan Pertanahan  melakukan pertemuan bersama masyarakat Rapat Pemprov PT dengan Masyarakat Mimika Timur dan Lepemawil di Timika pada Jumat (24/03/2023) kemarin.

Pertemuan tersebut digelar gegara aduan masyarakat terdampak yang mendiami wilayah pesisir Mimika atas aktivitas pengolahan Tailing PT. Freeport Indonesia.

Mereka yang hadir dalam pertemuan itu antara lain; Asisten III Sekda Papua Tengah, Elisabeth Tsenawatme, Plt. Sekda Mimika, anggota DPR Papua Petrus Yumte dan John NR Gobai serta Mathea Mameyao. Kadis ESDM Papua Tengah, Frits J. Boray, Kadis KLH Papua Tengah Yan Pugu.

“Pertemuan ini guna mendengar apa yang menjadi persoalan dalam masyarakat dan apa yang harus dikerjakan oleh Pemda Mimika nanti,” kata Gobai melalui pesan WhatsAppnya, Sabtu pagi (25/03/2023).

Dia mengungkapkan, terdapat beberapa penyampaian masyarakat terdampak kepada Pemprov Papua Tengah dan jajarannya, antara lain;

Pertama, Meminta agar ada pertemuan lanjutan yang harus dihadiri oleh PT. Freeport Indonesia.

Kedua, PT Freeport Indonesia harus membayar kompensasi kerugian masyarakat.

Ketiga, Pemerintah dan PT. Freeport Indonesia harus membangun rumah singgah. Dan menyediakan kapal keruk untuk mengeruk tailing, serta menyediakan kapal kecil atau perintis guna melayani masyarakat dari tiga Distrik yaitu, Agimuga, Jita dan Mimika Timur Jauh.

Keempat, perlu di rumuskan langkah-langkah pemanfaatan tailing.
