Nabire, Bumiofinavandu – Ketua Umum (Ketum) Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Pusat, Letjen Purnawirawan Marciano Norman mengatakan, pengurus KONI Provinsi Papua Tengah (PPT) merupakan Provinsi ke-35 di Indonesia sekaligus Provinsi Pertama di Daerah DOB yang dilantik pengurus KONInya.
Dia bilang, Presiden Jokowi menghendaki PON ke-21 di Aceh Tahun 2024 nantinya diikuti oleh seluruh Provinsi (38 Provinsi) di Indonesia termasuk empat DOB atau Provinsi baru di Tanah Papua.
“Beliau (Presiden) ingin PON Aceh diikuti seluruh Provinsi disaat parade pembukaan PON. Kami langsung berkoordinasi dengan Mendagri guna memfasilitasi pertemuan dengan para Penjabat Gubernur di DOB,” kata Marciano Norman, saat melantik pengurus KONI Provinsi Papua Tengah (PPT) masa bakti 2023-2024 di gedung Guest House, Jalan Merdeka, Nabire, Senin (06/03/2023).
Untuk itu menurutnya, jangan sampai Papua Tengah di saat PON hanya membawa plang nama dalam parade nantinya. Namun harus ada atlet yang ada di daerah ini dan tidak sekedar menjadi peserta PON, namun harus ada atlet unggulan yang bisa menunjukan daya saing di bidang olahraga.
“Jadi jangan hanya asal ikut bawah Nama PPT atau ikut, namun harus ada daya saing untuk melawan (bertanding) dengan Provinsi mempersiapkan atletnya.,”
Bagi Marciano Norman, pembinaan olahraga yang berprestasi merupakan bagian penting dari pembangunan karakter dan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) di daerah. Jika SDM memiliki daya saing dan kompetitisnesnya kuat, maka sudah barang tentu mengantar putra-putri menuju olahraga yang berprestasi.
“Sebab dengan pembinaan prestasi olahraga yang baik, maka akan lahir atlet yang semula tidak dikenal oleh siapapun menjadi terkenal dan mengharumkan nama daerah,” ungkapnya.
“Jadi tidak hanya mengharumkan Provinsi Papua Tengah tetapi menjadi bagian dari Tim Nasional Indonesia yang menjadi kebanggaan bangsa dan Negara. Yalni mengangkat harkat dan martabat bangsa dalam setiap keikutsertaannya di event-event internasional,” sambungnya lagi.
Marciano berpesan kepada pengurus yang baru saja dilantik, untuk memanfaatkan sebaik mungkin KONI di delapan Kabupaten di Daerah ini.
“Sebab KONI Kabupaten sudah barang tentu memiliki program kerja pembinaannya,” pesannya.
Sementara itu, Ketua KONI Papua Tengah Doktor Ribka Haluk mengucapkan terima kasih dan penghargaan yang setinggi-tingginya kepada KONI Pusat atas kesediaannya melantik pengurus KONI PTT.
“Ini merupakan momentum penyempurnaan Olahraga di Provinsi PT,” kata Haluk.
Haluk bilang, sangat diharapkan KONI PPT dapat membangun dan menghidupkan atlet yang mampu bersaing di kancah Nasional maupun Internasional.
“Ini merupakan suatu motivasi. Dengan adanya pengurus dapat meningkatkan peran serta dan aktif dalam menjalankan program kerja di bidang Olahraga,’ ungkapnya.
Diharapkan pula, pengurus dapat membantu dan secara aktif dalam menjalankan program kerja nantinya. Sehingga tugas sebagai keseharian KONI dapat berjalan lancar sesuai program kerja.
“Untuk memajukan SDM dan daya saing masyarakat Papua Tengah di bidang Olahraga baik kualitas maupun kuantitasnya,” harapnya.
Haluk mengungkapkan, pelantikan pengurus KONI yang dipimpinnya harus menjadi momentum dalam perbaikan dan penyempurnaan serta kevitasilasi keolahragaan di daerah ini. Dengan tujuan agar kelak dapat mengangkat prestasi dan pembinaan olahraga di lingkungan Provinsi Papua Tengah.
“Sehingga mampu membangun keunggulan dan prestasi di kanca Nasional maupun Internasional, terutama pada pelaksanaan event olahraga PON ke-21 di Aceh nantinya,” ungkapnya.
Haluk berharap agar dengan hadirnya pengurus KONI di Papua Tengah dapat membantu meningkatkan peran serta dan secara aktif dalam menjalankan program kerja sesuai tugas dan tanggung jawabnya.
Jadikan kepengurusan baru ini sebagai awak dan menjadi semangat untuk mendukung prestasi dan menyalurkan minat bakat pemuda dalam berolahraga.
“Demi memajukan pembangunan masyarakat khususnya baik kwantitas dan kwalitas di bidang olahraga,” harapnya.
