Paitua/Pace (sebutan orang Papua, Maluku adalah Bapak) Yance Rumbino sedang berada di pantia, hendak melakukan akfititasnya yakni pergi memancing. Ia (Pace Rumbini) bahkan sudah sempat mendorong perahunya ke bibir pantai. Ketika Handphonnya di aktifkan, Iapun menyadari bahwa ada seseorang yang menelepon. Pace Yance, lalu memberi sinyal bahwa dia harus bersabar untuk menerima panggilan kalau saja ada lagi yang menelepon.

“Hallo, selamat siang anak (penelpon). Apa khabar, nomor anak saya masih simpan,” ujar Pria kelahiran Sorong, tanggal 22 Juni 1953 Tahun silam ini beberapa waktu lalu dari balik selulernya.

Yance Rumbino, adalah pencipta lagu “Tanah Papua”. Yang kini telah menjadi lagu wajib di dua Provinsi yakni Papua Barat. Dia mengisahkan asal mula idenya muncul hingga terciptalah Lagu “Tanahku Papua).

Karya–karya Pace Yance Rumbino musik, terinspirasi dari kecintaannya terhadap bangsa Indonesia, terlebih khusus Tanah Papua. Dan kesan yang ingin disampaikan kepada putra putri Papua, yakni harus perbanyak karya. di bidang apa saja gunan memejukan daerah dan bangsa serta berhak menjaga dan melestarikan budaya leluhurnya di atas Tanahnya sendiri.

Menurutnya, saat berumur 20 Tahun, Ia menamatkan pendidikannya dari Sekolah Pendidikan Guru (SPG YPK), ia lalu ditugaskan ke Nabire saat itu.

Sesampainya di Nabire dan bertugas beberapa waktu, maka pada Tahun 1975 dimutasikan dari Nabire ke Distrik Mulia (Sekarang ibu kita Kabupaten Puncak Jaya). Dan berjalan kaki ke Sinak untuk mengabdi di sana, dua Tahun kemudian yakni 1977, kembali ke Nabire. Saat Naik pesawat, ia sangat takjub dengan panorama alam di Tanah Papua ketika dinikmati dari udara. Dari sinilah, timbul niat untuk menciptakan lagu.

10 Tahun kemudian, yakni pada Tahun 1985, Yance melakukan lagi satu perjalanan ke Daerah Topo (Distrik Uwapau, Kabupaten Nabire). tepatnya di Gunung Gamei. Pensiunan Guru ini, kembali menyaksikan pemandangan alam yang tak terhingga. Dalam hati ia berkata, lembah, gunung yang menjulang dengan panoramanya yang indah. Sungguh karya Maha pencipta yang menakjubkan.

Gugusan pulau–pulau nan indah, membuatnya Yance sering terharu. Apalagi isi yang ada didalam alam Papua. Ia mengaku, pernah melihat emas batangan di sebual sungai kecil di Topo. Suatu saat, sekembalinya dari Topo, Yance berkata pada istrinya, bahwa cepat atau lambat akan ada di Papua, sungai – sungai mengalir emas dan sempat menangis waktu itu. (saat itu belum ada emas dan pendulangan di mana-mana).

“Disanalah alam sebagai sumber inspirasi untuk berkarya, yang merupakan pengalaman yang saya lihat langsung di tengah pegunungan, lembah sampai di pesisir, sebagai sumber kehibupan. Lagu “Tanah Papua” dengan judul asli “Irian Jayaku” digarap selama dua hari berturut-turut, akhirnya terwujud,” ujar Paitua Yance.

Yance Rumbino mengisahkan, lagu “Irian Jaya” atau “Tanah Papua” yang terkenal itu pertama kali tontonkan oleh salah satu grup band asal Nabire, “Paniai Grup”. pada Tahun 1993 dan masuk ke dapur rekaman di Kota Makassar dengan judul aslinya. Kemudian berubah pada Tahun 2001 saat Gus Dur menjabat Presiden dan lalu kata “Irian Jaya” berubah menjadi “Tanah Papua”, oleh seorang seniman dari Nabire. (Titus Ruban)
