SELAMA ini, tanggal 01 Oktober selalu diperingati sebagai Hari Kesaktian Pancasila. Padahal ada satu peristiwa lain yang tak kalah penting juga maknanya pada tanggal itu. Sayangnya, tidak banyak orang yang tahu akan hal ini.
Tahukan anda, tepat 1 Abad yang lalu dua insan yang berbeda status sosial, sekaligus mewakili dua komunitas yang berbeda menyatukan persepsi untuk mewujudkan sebuah impian yang sangat besar dan inklusif. Bung Karno yang mewakili kaum terpelajar/intelektual, sementara Mang Aen yang namanya dimodifikasi oleh Bung Karno menjadi “MARHAEN” adalah seorang petani yang mewakili mayoritas penduduk miskin di wilayah Nusantara ini.
Peristiwa atau pertemuan tersebut berlangsung di tengah sawah di Desa Cigereleng pinggiran Bandung Selatan Jawa Barat. Saat itu seorang petani sedang di baluri keringat oleh sengatan mentari pagi sedang menggembur-gemburkan sawah.
Sementara Bung Karno sedang mengayuh sepedanya menuju kampus untuk kuliah. Namun karena didera oleh rasa gelisah beberapa hari sebelumnya, hingga di tengah jalan tiba-tiba Bung Karno berbelok ke arah selatan dan akhirnya tiba di daerah persawahan.
Ia memarkir sepedanya lalu dengan busana yang selalu rapi ala Bung Karno, ia berjalan meniti pematang sawah tanpa perduli pakaiannya kotor dan terkena lumpur maupun rerumputan.
Pemimpin pelayan
Kenapa harus ke tengah sawah? Padahal Bung Karno bisa bertepuk tangannya di pinggir sawah dan sang petani pasti akan bergegas menghampirinya dengan meninggalkan cangkulnya tergeletak di tengah sawah. Tetapi Bung Karno tidak melakukannya, ia yang harus mendatangi sang petani tersebut.
Bung Karno lalu jongkok di pematang sementara Mang Aen dengan nafas tersengal-sengal sambil bertumpu pada batang cangkulnya saling menyapa antara satu sama lain dan terjadilah dialog yang menjadi legenda yakni “Kaum Marhaenisme”.
Pada saat berdialog itulah Bung Karno tahu dan paham, betapa menderitanya hidup Mang Aen sekeluarga. Dan dari kondisi politik, sosial, kultur saat itu, tidak ada sedikitpun celah yang memungkinkan Mang Aen sekeluarga bisa terbebas dari jeratan derita. Menderita lahir batin hingga akhir hayat. Mang Aen menjadi contoh dari mayoritas masyarakat yang dilihat Bung Karno di hampir setiap tempat yang didatanginya. Di benak Bung Karno, satu-satunya jalan untuk menolong Mang Aen dan seluruh rakyat adalah jika Indonesia merdeka.
Atas perenungan di tengah sawah itulah, di depan Mang Aen, Bung Karno yang hari itu membatalkan kuliahnya, menjadi sangat emosional, karena tidak tahan menyaksikan penderitaan yang dialami Mang Aen sekeluarga. Maka sambil jongkok dan ikut berkeringat karena tersengat mentari, Bung Karno memutuskan : Indonesia harus Merdeka.
Dalam benak Bung Karno, kelak, bila Indonesia merdeka dengan kekayaan alamnya yang sangat luar biasa ini dapat dikelolah dengan baik, maka Mang Aen dan seluruh rakyat Indonesia bisa hidup sejahtera. Itulah sebabnya Bung Karno mengistilahkan kemerdekaan itu sebagai *Jembatan Emas*. Jembatan yang akan diseberangi untuk menemukan kondisi politik ,sosial dan kultur baru untuk Memerangi Sistem KAPITALISME, IMPERIALISME, KOLONIALISME, FEODALISME, KOMUNISME dan segala bentuknya agar dapat menolong kaum Marhaen hidup sejahtera. Tentunya dengan syarat; negara dikelola dengan baik dan benar. Yakni; para pemimpin harus memimpin dengan tulus dan serius, mendahulukan kepentingan bangsa dan negara dari pada kepentingan pribadi dan keluarga.
Bisakah? Jawabannya sangat bisa. Para pendiri bangsa sudah membuktikannya. Saya tidak menyebutnya satu persatu karena terlalu banyak. Karena saat mereka berkuasa mereka tidak memperkaya diri bahkan tetap hidup apa adanya. Itu sebabnya saat Bung Karno diusir dari Istana ketika Soeharto sudah mulai berkuasa, para pengawal kebingungan, pak Karno akan dibawa kemana ? Sebab Bung Karno tidak punya rumah.
Bung Hatta saat pensiun terpaksa menulis surat ke pemerintah bermohon agar uang pensiunnya dinaikkan sedikit karena tidak cukup untuk bayar listrik dan air minum. Dr.Leimena saat akan menghadiri sebuah konferensi terpaksa meminjam jas. Jenderal Hoegeng saat berhenti sebagai Kapolri, sejumlah mantan bawahannya urunan membelikan mobil karena Hoegeng tidak punya mobil dan Baharuddin Lopa punya mobil baru dengan cara menyicil.
Itu adalah contoh tentang negarawan yang betul – betul tulus dan serius mengelola negara. Dan masih banyak lagi. Mereka, saat berkuasa, mereka tidak memaksakan istri, anak dan saudaranya menjadi anggota DPR, bupati dan mengatur proyek. Sebab mereka tahu, paham, serta konsisten dengan misi memerdekakan negara ini; karena tujuannya untuk memperbaiki kehidupan kaum Marhaen di negeri ini.
Sebab penderitaan seluruh rakyat kecil dan Mang Aen yang disaksikan langsung oleh Bung Karno di tengah sawah telah memecut batinnya, yang membangkitkan rasa Nasionalismenya hingga memutuskan INDONESIA harus MERDEKA.
