Puluhan anggota Kelompok kelompok Tani atau Poktan yang berasal dari Nabire, Papua Tengah berkumpul di Pantai Menase, Kelurahan Kalibobo Distrik Nabire.

Pada Selasa pagi, (20/12/2022) sekira pukul 09.00WIT. satu persatu perwakilan Poktan itu memenuhi tempat kegiatan yang telah disiapkan oleh panitia. Mereka (Poktan) menghadiri undangan dari panitia pelaksana Musyawarah Besar (Mubes) 100 Poktan yang dimotori oleh Himpunan Petani Nyata (Hipeta) Papua Tengah.

Musyawarah tersebut digelar untuk memilih pengurus Hipeta dan membahas beberapa program kerja. Dalam rangka mewujudkan target Pangan Nasional di Provinsi yang baru sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap program Pemerintah.

Sebelum membahas program-program kerja untuk periode 2023-2017, acara diawali dengan Mubes untuk memilih pengurus Hipeta untuk lima Tahun kedepan.

Akhirnya, Mubes menghasilkan beberapa pengurus dan bidang-bidang. Terpilih sebagai ketua Hipeta Saudara Kristofel Mara.

Mara, mengatakan bahwa Mubes digelar berdasarkan inisiatif dari 96 kelompok tani yang telah terbentuk sejak kurun waktu Tahun 2018 hingga 2022. Poktan tersebar di sebagian besar wilayah Papua Tengah dan bukan hanya Orang Asli Papua (OAP).

“Kelompok tani ini ini tersebar di 15 Distrik di Nabire. Termasuk beberapa kelompok Tani di wilayah Paniai, Deiyai, Dogiyai, Intan Jaya serta beberapa Kabupaten di luar Provinsi Papua Tengah. Poktannya merata, ada OAPdan Non OAP,” kata Mara kepada awak media usai mubes.

Poktan yang bergabung dalam Hipeta berasal dari berbagai sektor. Menurut Mara, ada petani ikan, ternak dan komoditi tanaman. Sehingga Hipeta akan selalu siap untuk membantu dengan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang dimiliki.

Misalnya Hipeta akan bertugas mendampingi dan mengedukasi para petani untuk keterampilan bercocok tanam yang baik dan benar.

Sebagai penyangga tatanan Negara, para poktan berasal dari berbagai sektor dan bidang sesuai dengan keahliannya masing-masing. Ada petani ikan, petani ternak, petani tanaman dan petani sayuran berbagai komoditi.

sehingga organisasi akan siap membantu dan menghadirkan tenaga-tenaga ahli di bidangnya guna membantu para petani.

“Kami juga bisa membantu kalau mereka butuh fasilitas dari Pemerintah. Kami akan mempertemukan dan memfasilitasi,” ujar Kristofel.

Hipeta sendiri telah dibentuk pada awal Tahun 2022 berdasarkan kebutuhan pangan Nasional. Sebab para petani saat ini dihadapkan dengan berbagai kendala. Misalkan pupuk, cara bercocok tanam dan sebagainya.

Apalagi kata Mara, untuk mempertahankan produksi ketahanan pangan di Papua Tengah, khususnya di Nabire masih membutuhkan edukasi dan pendampingan terhadap petani. Hipeta akan membantu pemerintah untuk menginvestasi hasil-hasil produksi.

“Sebab saat ini Nabire masih butuh pasokan pangan dari luar Papua. Karena konsumennya bukan hanya Nabire tetapi hampir seluruh wilayah Papua Tengah [ekspor pangan dari luar] Papua. Kalau tidak ada yang bantu pemerintah maka jangan salahkan satu pihak atau pembatasan komoditas ekspor,” katanya menjelaskan.

Hipeta, akan selalu siap dan berkomitmen untuk mengedukasi para petani dan membantu pemerintah untuk ketahanan pangan di wilayah Papua Tengah.[*]
