Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Sebanyak 95 warga Kei dari Weda, Halmahera Tengah, Maluku utara ke Tual Maluku Tenggara (Malra), Maluku. Mereka (95) warga yang bekerja di salah satu perusahaan itu, dipulangkan pasca bentrok antar warga yang terjadi di Weda Desember 2022 silam.

Sebelumnya, terjadi bentrokan antar dua kelompok warga di Desa Lelilef Sawai, Kecamatan Weda Tengah, Halmahera Tengah, Provinsi Maluku Utara.

Insiden tersebut terjadi pada Senin (26/12/2022) gegera miras. Kedua kelompok saling serang dengan menggunakan, batu, potongan kayu, hingga parang, dan tombak.

Kedua massa juga memblokir jalan menuju dari dan ke Kota Maba, ibu kota Halmahera Tengah sehingga mengganggu aktivitas masyarakat. Bentrok ini dinilai sangat mengganggu karyawan perusahan pertambangan nikel yang akan melintas kawasan itu.

Kapolda Maluku Utara, Irjen Pol Midi Suswoko, menjelaskan bahwa kejadian itu dipicu oleh minuman keras lalu terjadi kesalahpahaman.

“Dasarnya miras (minuman keras) lalu mabuk. Yang ditegur ditegur tidak terima lalu melakukan penganiayaan,” kata Kapolda Maluku Utara.

Namun menurut Irjen Pol Midi Suswoko, pemblokiran jalan telah diatasi aparat dan aktivitas masyarakat kembali normal.
