Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –   Menjelang perayaan Natal dan Tahun Baru (Nataru 2023/2024, Kepolisian Resort (Polres) Nabire bakal menggelar operasi lilin.

Kepala Kepolisian Resort (Kapolres) Nabire, Ajun Komisaris Besar Polisi (AKBP), I Ketut Suarnaya menyatakan, operasi lilin merupakan pengamanan yang dilakukan terhadap umat kristiani yang hendak merayakan dan melaksanakan ibadah Natal dan pergantian Tahun Baru.

“Jadi akan didirikan beberapa pos pengamanan dan pos layanan,’ kata AKBP I ketut Suarnaya melalui selulernya diterima Bumiofinavandu pada Rabu (21/12/2023) malam.

Dijelaskan, untuk pos pengamanan akan didirikan di beberapa tempat. Misalnya di Pasar Karang Tumaritis, Pasar Kalibobo, Pos Kota Oyehe, Nabire Barat, Bandara, pelabuhan dan beberapa pos lainnya.

“Operasi lilin akan berlangsung selama 12 hari, terhitung 22 Desember hingga 01 Januari 2024 mendatang. Jumlah personil yang dilibatkan sebanyak 150 personel Polri, termasuk bantuan dari TNI serta instansi,” jelas Kapolres.

Kapolres mengingatkan kepada warga Nabire, bahwa bulan desember merupakan bulan ibadah, sehingga hati dan pikiran perlu disejukkan, apalagi aktivitas masyarakat meningkat. Maka Polri akan fokus untuk mengamankan tempat-tempat ibadah dan menjaga siskamtibmas agar tetap aman dan terkendali.

Untuk itu, kepada warga agar tidak melakukan hal-hal yang merugikan diri sendiri maupun orang lain.

“Sebab kerukunan dan toleransi antar umat beragama sangatlah penting, sehingga saling menjaga dan menghargai satu sama lain,” pungkasnya.

Kapolres menegaskan, tidak ada bunyi-bunyi petasan petasan dan meriam pada saat pelaksanaan ibadah yakni tanggal 25 – 26 Desember.

 Untuk itu, para orang tua agar tidak membiarkan anak-anaknya bermain petasan, karena bisa saja berakibat fatal.

“Lebih Baik kembang api saja daripada petasan atau meriam. Jadi sekali lagi tidak ada bunyi petasan-petasan. Mari saling menghargai satu sama lain. Bagi saudara-saudara yang suka konsumsi miras atau alkohol, saya ajak tinggalkan itu dan perbanyak amal ibadahnya,” tegas Kapolres Suarnaya.
