Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah resmi umumkan Upah Minimum Provinsi (UMP) 2024 senilai Rp 4.024.270. Besaran UMP Papua Tengah ini diambil dari besaran UMP Papua induk.

Kepala Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Provinsi Papua Tengah, Frits James Boray mengungkapkan per tanggal 21 November 2023, Provinsi Papua Tengah telah menetapkan UMP Papua Tengah setara dengan UMP provinsi Papua. Berdasarkan Pergub UMP mengalami kenaikan sebesar Rp.4.024.270 dari Rp. 3.864.700.UMP ini mengalami kenaikan sebanyak Rp.159.578 atau sebesar 4,13 persen.

Frits Boray menegaskan besaran UMP ini ditentukan dari UMP Provinsi Papua Induk. Hal ini disebabkan,Provinsi Papua Tengah masih belum memiliki dewan pengupah.

“Kami Provinsi Papua Tengah masih mengacu pada provinsi induk, karena sampai saat ini kami belum mempunyai kantor statistik atau belum adanya dewan pengupah di daerah ini,” tutur Boray belum beberapa waktu lalu.

Disinggung Untuk angka komulatif ini, Boray mengaku ditentukan dari 3 hal, diantaranya kemampuan nilai beli oleh masyarakat secara umum, pertumbuhan ekonomi dan inflasi. Ia menilai berdasarkan tingkat kesulitan di wilayah Papua Tengah, dengan kenaikan UMP dinilai masih ideal.

“UMP kurang lebih Rp 4 juta ini tentu sudah ideal diterima. Sehingga kami harapkan agar pihak swasta atau perusahaan harus segera menyesuaikan pengupahan bagi karyawannya. Apabila ada yang tidak mengindahkannya, tentu akan ada sanksi berat kita berikan,” akuh Boray.

ditambahkan Boray, dirinya memastikan, untuk tahun depan UMP ini akan disesuaikan dengan kondisi di wilayah ini. Menurutnya angka UMP di Papua Tengah kemungkinan akan terus bertambah kedepannya.

“Sebenarnya angka saat ini sudah ideal, saya pikir masa akan datang akan kita hitung lagi sesuaikan dengan tingkat pendapatan provinsi Papua Tengah dan perkirakan harusnya akan bertambah,” pungkasnya.[*]
