GMP di gelar guna kendalikan inflasi di Provinsi Papua Tengah, Senin (16/10/2023). – Bumiofinavandu/Roy Purba.

Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Peringati Hari Pangan Sedunia, Pemprov Papua Tengah bersama Pemkab Nabire, menggelar pasar murah, dalam rangka memperingati Hari Pangan Sedunia, 16 Oktober 2023. Kegiatan yang digelar sekaligus sebagai upaya dalam mengendalikan laju inflasi di Provinsi ini, berlangsung di Lagari Jaya, Distrik Makimi, Kabupaten Nabire, Senin (16/10/2023).

Penjabat Gubernur Papua Tengah, Ribka Haluk mengatakan, pelaksanaan kegiatan ini merupakan Gerakan Panganan Murah atau yang disingkat GPM. GPM merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk stabilkan pasokan dan harga pangan dalam hal mengendalikan laju inflasi di Provinsi Papua Tengah.

“Ini disebut GPM, untuk menstabilkan harga pangan,” kata Haluk.

Ribka Haluk menjelaskan setiap tanggal 16 Oktober seluruh dunia memperingati hari pangan. Dan untuk Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah memusatkan perayaan tersebut di Kampung Lagari Jaya, Distrik Makimi Kabupaten Nabire.

Peringatan hari pangan sedunia yang ke-43 tahun dengan tema “Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave no One Behind” yang artinya air adalah kehidupan, air adalah makanan. Jangan tinggalkan siapapun.

“Tema ini bertujuan untuk menyoroti peran penting air bagi kehidupan di bumi serta sumber makanan,” jelasnya.

“Air memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk lebih dari 50% tubuh makhluk hidup, menutupi sekitar 71% permukaan bumi, hingga menjadi kekuatan bagi manusia, perekonomian dan alam serta fondasi pangan,” sambungnya lagi.

Menurut Ribka Haluk, pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat, urbanisasi, pembangunan ekonomi dan perubahan iklim menjadikan sumber daya air di bumi semakin terbatas. Oleh karena itu, hari Pangan Sedunia 2023 mengajak seluruh masyarakat untuk lebih bijak dalam menggunakan air.

“Kita perlu memproduksi lebih banyak pangan dan komoditas pertanian penting lainnya dengan sedikit air, sambil memastikan air didistribusi secara merata, sistem pangan tetap terjaga dan tidak ada seorangpun yang tertinggal,” tuturnya.

Sehingga Ribka Haluk mengajak semua pihak untuk menjadikan hari Pangan Sedunia dirayakan sesuai resolusi pada konferensi organisasi pangan dan pertanian sedunia (fao) di Roma-Italia yang disepakati oleh 172  negara termasuk Indonesia. Salah satu pernyataan penting dari pertemuan itu adalah “Seluruh Negara dan Masyarakat Dunia Secara Keseluruhan Mengupayakan Untuk Menghilangkan Kelaparan dan Kekurangan Gizi Dalam Waktu Satu Dekade”.

“Ini menunjukkan kepada kita bahwa para pimpinan negara/pemerintahan telah mengikrarkan kemauan politik dan komitmennya untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan serta melanjutkan upaya penghapusan kelaparan di semua negara anggota. Namun sampai saat ini pernyataan tersebut belum dapat diwujudkan dengan baik. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya masalah ketidak seimbangan antara ketersedian, distribusi, daya beli dan pertumbuhan penduduk antar wilayah maupun negara,” pungkasnya.

Lanjutnya, Provinsi Papua Tengah dengan delapan Kabupaten yang memiliki daerah pesisir hingga pegunungan dengan beragam suku penduduknya yang memiliki pola konsumsi makanan pokok yang beragam pula seperti beras, umbi-umbian dan sagu. Hal ini menunjukkan betapa besar dan beragamnya kebutuhan pangan masyarakat kita sehingga dibutuhkan keseriusan pemerintah, sektor swasta dan masyarakat untuk bergotong royong menyediakan kebutuhan pangan yang cukup.

“Dalam merayakan hari pangan sedunia juga saat ini kita mengadakan kegiatan gerakan pangan murah yang kita laksanakan hari ini, dimana ini merupakan suatu wujud nyata program Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah bekerjasama dengan pemerintah Kabupaten Nabire untuk menjamin dan menjaga stabilitas pangan di daerah ini.

“Gerakan pangan murah ini menyediakan berbagai jenis bahan pangan yang dijual dibawah harga pasar dengan tujuan untuk menjaga stabilitas pasokan dan harga pangan. Mari kita mengawasi kegiatan distribusi dan perdagangan pangan yang ada agar ketersediaan dan harga pangan dapat terjaga dengan kondusif. Tidak boleh ada pihak yang coba-coba bermain dan melakukan penimbunan bahan pangan yang ada,” tegasnya.

Ribka Haluk tak lupa mengajak seluruh masyarakat agar memanfaatkan potensi lahan yang tersedia baik darat dan air/laut untuk meningkatkan produksi pangan guna memenuhi kebutuhan pangan daerah. Untuk itu dalam merencanakan pembangunan ketahanan pangan daerah perlu selektif dan memfokuskan pada komoditas yang sesuai dengan keunggulan sumber daya wilayah, sehingga selain dapat meningkatkan ketersediaan pangan daerah.

“Saya juga mendorong peningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Melestarikan potensi sagu dan pangan lokal lainya melalui budidaya yang teratur dan berkesinambungan. Meningkatkan populasi ternak baik ternak besar maupun kecil. Meningkatkan pembinaan terhadap pangan lokal yang ada di daerah papua tengah dengan melakukan upaya perbaikan mutu dan pengelolaan hasil serta kualitas gizi,” lugasnya.

Diakhir sambutannya Ribka Haluk menyampaikan, tingkat kebutuhan ekonomi masyarakat di wilayah Papua Tengah semakin tinggi disertai harga sembilan bahan pokok (Sembako) di pasar mengalami inflasi yang cukup signifikan, sehingga laju kemiskinan ekstrem menjadi atensi bagi pemerintah.

“Daya beli masyarakat menurun karena harga sembako di pasar naik. Hal ini juga bisa membuat masyarakat tidak bisa membeli untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga,” ungkap Ribka.

Oleh karena itu ia menjelaskan Pemprov Papua Tengah dan Pemkab Nabire melakukan kegiatan pasar murah pada beberapa distrik di Kabupaten Nabire agar harga sembako bisa tetap stabil.

“Itu tugas pemerintah, sehingga saya harap kita tetap kompak pemerintah provinsi dan kabupaten, agar harga tidak mengalami kenaikan,” harapnya.

Usai membuka kegiatan pasar murah, Pemprov Papua Tengah dan Pemkab Nabire juga membagikan sembako gratis kepada warga yang kurang mampu.

Selain sembako, diberikan juga ternak berupa bebek dan sapi serta bibit kelapa dan cabai kepada kelompok tani yang ada di kampung itu, dilanjutkan mengunjungi setiap stand pasar murah untuk memastikan harga sembako yang diperdagangkan oleh distributor.

Pantauan di lapangan, setiap sembako yang dijual distributor dalam kegiatan pasar murah ini, cukup murah dibandingkan harga pasar pada umumnya. Misalkan saja telur ayam, satu rak hanya dijual Rp45.000, padahal harga pasaran Rp60.000. Begitu juga sembako lainnya mengalami penurunan signifikan.[*]
