Masyarakat Suku Kamoro di Mimika akan dapat rumah layak huni dari Pemprov PT. – Bumiofinavandu/Dok Humas Pemprov PT.

Mimika, Bumiofinavandu –   Pemerintah Provinsi Papua Tengah (Pemprov [PT) melalui Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) akan  membangun sebanyak 14 unit rumah layak  huni bagi penduduk Suku Kamoro yang tinggal di Poumako, Kabupaten Mimika. Pembangunan tersebut ditandai dengan pendirian tiang pertama oleh Asisten III Sekda Provinsi PT, Elisabeth Cenawatin mewakili Pj Gubernur Papua Tengah Ribka Haluk, pada Sabtu (07/10/2023) siang.

Elisabeth Cenawatin mengatakan, rumah kebutuhan dasar manusia, rumah yang baik dan sehat ini dikategorikan sebagai rumah layak huni yang juga berfungsi meningkatkan harkat, martabat, mutu kehidupan dan penghidupan manusia.

“Saya berharap dengan kegiatan pemasangan tiang pertama hari ini di Suku Kamoro Kampung Paumako, dapat menjadi awal yang baik bagi Pemerintah Papua Tengah dalam pengentasan kemiskinan ekstrim yang terjadi wilayah kita,” ungkap Elisabeth saat membaca sambutan Pj. Gubernur Papua Tengah, Dr. Ribka Haluk.

Dia menjelaskan pembangunan perumahan dan permukiman harus didukung oleh suatu kebijakan, strategi dan program yang komprehensif dan terpadu sehingga akan menghasilkan suatu lingkungan perumahan yang sehat, serasi, harmonis, aman dan nyaman.

“Salah satu upaya pemerintah papua tengah dalam mengatasi kemiskinan ekstrim adalah dengan menyediakan rumah layak huni, karena angka kemiskinan di wilayah Papua Tengah khususnya Mimika menurut data BPS mencapai 30.950 orang dan menurut data BKKBN mencapai 27.823, orang  yang mana salah satu penyebabnya adalah adanya kesenjangan pemenuhan kebutuhan perumahan (backlog) serta kondisi rumah yang belum layak huni,” jelas Elisabeth.

Elisabeth bilang, dengan adanya bantuan rumah layak huni ini akan membantu meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat Papua Tengah khususnya masyarakat Suku Kamoro, Kampung Paumako Mimika dalam upaya pengentasan kemiskinan ekstrim di wilayah Papua Tengah.
