Jayapura, Bumiofinavandu –   Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Provinsi Papua menggelar sosialisasi elektronik Log Book penangkapan ikan, Selasa (05/09/2023) petang. Sosialisasi tersebut, dipusatkan di Aula Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua Dok VII, Kota Jayapura, Provinsi Papua.

Kepala Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua, Iman Djuniawal, melalui keterangan resmi mengatakan, dengan penerapan elektronik LogBook tersebut, diharapkan usaha penangkapan ikan bagi kapal perikanan diatas 5 GT akan lebih maksimal. Dimana pemilik kapal dan nelayan bisa mendapatkan data produksi ikan dengan lebih mudah, akurat, dan real time.

“Sebab kunci utama keberhasilan pengelolaan perikanan saat ini tergantung pada pengelolaan data dan informasi yang memadai, serta berkualitas. Salah satunya melalui penerapan elektronik Log Book penangkapan ikan ini,” terang Kepala Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Papua, Iman Djuniawal, di sela-sela agenda tersebut.

Karena elektronik LogBook sendiri merupakan laporan harian tertulis nakhoda mengenai kegiatan penangkapan ikan dan landing declaration. Dilain pihak, sebagai surat pernyataan Nakhoda mengenai aktivitas penangkapan sumber daya ikan (hasil tangkapan) di laut, yang akan didaratkan di pelabuhan perikanan.

Pada kesempatan tersebut Iman Djuniawal, mengharapkan pemilik kapal dan nelayan dapat memahami pentingnya pengisian Elektronik LogBook.

Dimana hal itu pula merupakan implementasi kegiatan dari Lembaga Pengelola Perikanan di Wilayah Pengelolaan Perikanan (LPP-WPP) 717 Laut Pasifik yang disponsori oleh gef 6.

“Karena kita Papua merupakan binaan dari pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Ternate juga merupakan sekretariat komisi, kita mendapat dukungan kegiatan ini,” ucap Koordinator kesyahbandaran PPN Ternate M. Amin.

Sementara Kepala Seksi Perikanan Tangkap yang juga Koordinator Kesyahbandaran Pelabuhan Perikanan Hamadi Agus Rahmawan, mengharapkan output dari kegiatan tersebut dapat menghasilkan data produksi perikanan yang lebih akurat di wilayah Bumi Cenderawasih.[*]
