Nabire, Bumiofinavandu – Kepala Suku Besar Meepago, Provinsi Papua Tengah, Melkianus Keiya dilantik. Pelantikan berlangsung di Aula GKI Tabernakel Oyehe, pada Selasa (29/08/2023) siang.
Acara pelantikan tersebut dipandu Idah Tebai, diawali dengan doa pembukaan dipimpin oleh Pdt. Muda Lukas Ayomi dari yang gereja Persekutuan Doa Tubuh Kristus Kegata-Makataka.
Pelantikan ini dihadiri Pj Gubernur, diwakili oleh Theophilus Lukas Ayomi Kepala Kesbangpol Provinsi Papua Tengah, Bupati Nabire, Anggota DPRD, serta para Kepala OPD dan tokoh masyarakat Suku Mee.
Atas nama Pj Gubernur Papua Tengah, Theophilus Lukas Ayomi mengapresiasi dan menyatakan bahwa pelantikan tersebut, merupakan suatu sejarah dan semangat baru bagi suku Mee, di Wilayah adat Meepago.
“Untuk hidup dalam suatu tatanan nilai kekeluargaan, guna membangun suatu komitmen hidup rukun dan damai di Wilayah adat Meepago,” ujat Ayomi.
Dia mengapresiasi langkah suku Mee yang berkumpul dan melakukan dialog guna menyamakan persepsi tentang wadah yang didirikan.
Sehingga harapannya, melalui wadah tersebut dapat menyatukan mengakomodir seluruh masyarakat Mee di wilayah ini. Yang tujuannya tidak lain adalah dalam rangka mempertahankan dan melestarikan berbagai aspek terutama sosial budaya di tengah masyarakat Papua tengah khususnya Suku Mee.
“Saya harap, dengan adanya pelantikan Kepala Suku Besar Mee ,Provinsi Papua Tengah ini, dapat menyatukan kesamaan-kesamaan dan menjauhkan perbedaan. Dan bersatu untuk memberikan sumbangsih dalam segala hal, serta berkontribusi bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat di sekitar,” imbuhnya.
Ketua Panitia pelantikan, Andreas Pakage, mengatakan tujuan dari pelantikan kepala suku tersebut sebagai perpanjangan tangan dari Pemerintah karena Provinsi Papua Tengah. Dimana adalah daerah ini terdapat beragam suku, bahasa dan budaya.
Pakage berharap, agar kepala Suku Mee yang adalah Pemilik Tanah Adat Wilayah Meepago harus menjaga nama dan harkat martabat sukunya.
“Maka kami siap mendukung program kerja yang akan jalankan oleh Kepala Suku Besar Papua Tengah atau Wilayah Meepago ini,” pungkasnya.[*]
