JDRP2 tolak pemakaman Tom Beanal di Mile 32

Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Koordinator Jaringan Doa Rekonsiliasi untuk Pemulihan Papua (JDRP2), Selpius Bobii menegaskan, pihaknya menolak pemakaman almarhum Tom Beanal di mile 32 Mimika, Papua Tengah.

Menurut Bobii, pihaknya lebih memilih makanan dilakukan di Timika Indah. alasannya masuk akal, sebab almarhum Tom Beanal merupakan seorang tokoh Bangsa Papua sekaligus pemilik hak ulayat di PT. Freeport Indonesia.

Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan Selpius Bobii melalui video berdurasi 1.59 menit yang beredar di beberapa grup WhatsApp Jumat (02/06/2023) pagi.

Berikut pernyataannya;

Saya Selpius Bobii, Koordinator Jaringan Doa Rekonsiliasi untuk Pemulihan Papua (JDRP2), pada hari ini Tanggal 02 Juni 2023 menyampaikan;

Pertama, Kami turut berduka cita atas meninggalnya tokoh pejuang Bangsa Papua, Tom Beanal yang meninggal beberapa hari yang lalu. Dan jenazahnya telah tiba di Timika pada Tanggal 1 Juni 2023.

Kedua, kami menolak tegas rencana pemakaman tokoh pejuang bangsa Papua dan jugayang adalah pemilik hak ulayat PT. Freeport Indonesia, yang rencananya akan dimakamkan di Mil 23 atau 32. Kami tolak.

Ketiga, kami mendesak jenazah almarhum Tom Beanal harus dimakamkan di Timika Indah. Sekali lagi jenazah almarhum harus dimakamkan di Timika Indah.

Atas perhatian kami sampaikan terima kasih!

Sebelumnya, Tom Beanal yang lahir di Kampung Tsinga, Distrik Tembagapura pada 11 Agustus Tahun 1947 ini, menghembuskan nafas terakhir di Rumah Sakit Mount Elizabeth Singapore pada 29 Mei 2023 Pukul 14.05 waktu Singapore. Meninggalnya tokoh Papua ini dikabarkan akibat serangan jantung.

Rencananya, jenazah almarhum akan disemayamkan di Keuskupan Timika setelah kepulangan ke Indonesia.

Keuskupan Timika melalui Sekretaris Keuskupan Timika Romo Madya SCJ mengatakan pihak keuskupan siap menerima jenazah Tom Beanal.

Jenazah Tom Beanal sudah tiba di Hanggar UPBU Bandara Mozes Kilangin Timika, Kamis (01/06/2023) sekitar pukul 15.40 kemarin.

Kepulangannya dari Singapura ke Mimika menggunakan pesawat carteran oleh PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI).

Rencananya Tom Beanal akan dikebumikan di area pemakaman milik keluarga yang terletak di Jalan Agimuga, Mile 32.[*]
