Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Pelaksana Tugas Kepala Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kabupaten Nabire, Provinsi Papua Tengah Imanuel Monei mengatakan, Nabire merupakan wilayah yang rawan banjir dan longsor.

Curah hujan dengan intensitas tinggi pada musim penghujan melanda Nabire sejak 4 Desember 2021 hingga saat ini menyebabkan Nabire banjir dan longsor. Banyak rumah warga dan fasilitas publik hancur.

“Nabire merupakan kabupaten rawan bencana alam. Banjir disertai longsor rutin melanda daerah ini. Selain bersama para staf terjun langsung di lapangan membantu menyelamatkan warga atau mengevakuasi harta benda, kami juga terus bekerja keras mengajak semua pihak terlibat aktif mencari jalan keluar melakukan rehabilitasi dan rekonstruksi pasca banjir” ujar Imanuel kepada Odiyaiwuu.com di Nabire, Provinsi Papua Tengah, Jumat (03/12/2022).

Menurut Immanuel pasca banjir menerjang sejumlah wilayah sejak awal Desember 2021, Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Nabire dan BPBD setempat memberikan perhatian terkait bencana itu. Pemkab dan BPBD Nabire juga tengah mencari jalan keluar guna penanganan Jalan Yaro di Kampung Yaro Distrik Yaro, Jembatan Jalan Karadiri di Kelurahan Karadiri, Distrik Wanggar, Jembatan Sungai Kimi di Kampung Waharia Distrik Teluk Kimi, Box Culvert Jl Bumi Wonorejo di Kelurahan Bumi Wonorejo Distrik Nabire Barat, Bronjong Sungai Nabire di Kelurahan Morgo Distrik Nabire.

Hampir 78 persen wilayah jantung kota dan sejumlah wilayah lainnya merupakan kawasan rawan bencana banjir. Nyaris semua kampung maupun kelurahan dilalui kali atau sungai seperti Sungai Nabire, Nabarua, Siriwini, Sanoba, Kimi, Bumi, Yaro, Sima, dan sejumlah sungai kecil” lanjut Imanuel.

Saat musim hujan dengan intensitas tinggi, tempat tinggal warga selalu berada dalam intaian terjangan banjir disertai longsor. Ancaman tersebut sangat terbuka akibat diperparah mampetnya selokan akibat tak mampu menahan volume air. Rumah-rumah warga seperti Oyehe, Girimulyo, dan Wonorejo kerap terendam.

Proses rehabilitasi dan rekonstruksi butuh keseriusan melalui dukungan anggaran bersumber APBD Nabire. Namun, tentu Pemkab Nabire tidak mampu jalan sendiri tetapi perlu sinergi dan kolaborasi seluruh pemangku kepentingan, stakeholder terutama BPBD Provinsi Papua maupun Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Nasional” Kata Imanuel.[*]
