Nabire, Bumiofinavandu –  Polisi dari Polres Manokwari, Polda Papua Barat telah menangkap 46 orang di Kampung Wsirawi Distrik Masni Kabupaten Manokwari. Mereka ditangkap gegara tambang ilegal di lokasi kejadian.

Penangkapan dipimpin langsung oleh Kapolres Manokwari, AKBP Parasian Herman Gultom sejak Jumat (18/11/2022) pekan lalu.

Saat ini laka Herman, proses pemeriksaan dan pengambilan keterangan masih berjalan untuk menyelidiki peran masing-masing dalam kegiatan penambangan emas ilegal itu.

“Mereka diamankan berturut-turut dalam operasi, dan saat ini sudah diamankan ke markas Polres Manokwari untuk dimintai keterangannya masing-masing,” ujar Herman Rabu (23/11/22) kemarin.

Terpisah, Kapolda Papua Barat Inspektur Jenderal Polisi Daniel TM Silitonga menyatakan, satu atensi yang wajib ditingkatkan oleh jajaran Polres adalah upaya pencegahan dan penegakan hukum terhadap kegiatan pertambangan ilegal di wilayah Papua Barat.

“Penertiban kegiatan pertambangan ilegal bagian dari atensi saya untuk memastikan tidak ada potensi gangguan keamanan di kalangan masyarakat sekitar lokasi, hingga kegiatan ilegal yang merugikan Pemerintah dan negara di bidang pertambangan,” pungkasnya.[*]
