Manokwari, Bumiofinavandu –  Direktur Eksekutif Lembaga Penelitian, Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Bantuan Hukum (LP3BH) Manokwari, mendesak Kapolri Jenderal Polisi Listyo Sigit dan jajarannya untuk mengungkap tuntas aksi peledakan bom di rumah kediaman orang tua dari  Advokat Hak Asasi Manusia Veronica Koman, di bilangan Jelambar baru, Jakarta, Minggu (07/11/2021) sekitar pukul 10:45 wit.

Tindakan tidak terpuji ini merupakan teror masif yang diduga keras diakibatkan karena langkah advokasi dari Advokat Veronica Koman yang dipandang seringkali “menyerang” pemerintah Indonesia dari tempatnya berdomisili saat ini di benua Australia. Sebagai Advokat Peraih Penghargaan Internasional “John Humphrey Freedom Award” Tahun 2005 di Montreal, Canada saya memandang bahwa tindakan diatas dapat dipandang sebagai langkah mengintimidasi Advokat HAM Veronica Koman karena kerjanya selama ini.

Sebab sangat bertentangan dengan Deklarasi Internasional tentang Pembela HAM (Human right Defenders). Karena dalam pasal 1 dari Deklarasi yang disahkan pada tanggal 9 Desember 1998 tersebut jelas mengatur tentang hak Advokat Veronica Koman sebagai individu yang bebas bekerja dan tidak boleh ditekan atau diintimidasi dalam bentuk dan cara apapun dan oleh siapapun ketika dia menjalankan tugas advokasinya di tingkat nasional bahkan internasional.

Hal mana dilindungi oleh negara Republik Indonesia sebagai salah satu anggota Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa (PBB). Sehingga tindakan teror yang diarahkan kepada orang tua Veronica Koman adalah salah sasaran dan tidak proporsional bahkan cenderung dapat dipahami sebagai upaya sistematis yang terstruktur sejak lama, sehingga patut dilakukan penyelidikan secara hukum oleh Polri hingga menemukan siapa pelakunya. LP3BH akan memberikan perhatian dan terus mengawal proses hukumnya hingga polisi menemukan sang pelaku teror tersebut.(*)
